Off Road Caravan

Over the years, have we been doing our overlanding with our pop-top Defender, for weekends and long standing camping our Gypsey Romany caravan.

However for some time have we been looking to buy an off-road caravan so that we can do longer stays in the remote locations of our country. I do however have a problem with all the off-road caravans on the market in South Africa. The doors and beds are too small and cramped in, I hate sleeping under canvas and they all way to much.

In Feb of this year, we decided to bite the bullet and sell our Romany and build our own off-road caravan. After two months of planning and designing were we ready to order the different components we needed.

All chassis beams was custom made C channels for the main chassis 5mm and for the bracing beams 3 mm. The box was made from composite glassfiber and foamalite and all fittings to the box was made from aluminum.

We carry 400ah 12 volt power and 2kwa 220v and we charge this with two 120w solar panels but can also make use of shore power for charging.
