Week Six (Ngorongoro, Serengeti)
What a place, it was totally worth our travels. Ngorongoro we entered when the gates opened at 06:00. These parks are exceptionally expensive and you really need to plan very much to get the maximum out of it.
The mountain was covered in clouds and that in itself was an experience. In our favor by the time we got to the descent entrance from the rim was the clouds out of the way and we could see the crater.
Serengeti is wonderful, we experienced all the animals except for a leopard during our 48-hour period in the park. We also had the privilege to see a Lioness trying to take down a Zebra, and very big herds of Blue Wildebeest.
The nature and animals in the Serengeti is like nothing else we have seen. The roads on the other hand are really bad and should only be driven with a big 4x4. I also think that at a cost of 206 USD for two people and a 2 ton 4x4 per day is a bit steep, however it is a place to be visited at least once in one’s live time.
