Rigtersveld

Just after arriving home from our week holiday with the grandchildren were we invited to go with friends to the Rigtersveld. We were four vehicles and four couples for a five-day trip starting at Pella in the Northern Cape down to Groenrivier on the west coast, following the orange river to the see and then all the way down the coast.

A big part of this area is a desert and currently it is very dry all over. However, people are doing subsistence farming with livestock in the area, but life is hard. It was a wonderful trip and good fun was had, swimming in the river and doing wild camping.
